Far more than your average disk-burning utility, Nero 6 Ultra Edition packs dozens of useful features in a neat $99 suite, which shipped last week. Included in Nero 6 Ultra Edition are tools for burning movies, music or standard data files to DVDs or CD-ROMs.

The new StartSmart interface makes it easy to use all of Neros functions—and given the breadth of available features, StartSmart is a necessity.

A new High Efficiency Advanced Audio Coding encoder is also included, which allowed me to encode music in MP4 format. My version of the software did not include an MPEG-4 video encoder, but this feature is available for download. Go to www.nero.com for more information.
