By Jim Rapoza Fifteen years ago, ViolaWWW, the precursor to the modern Web browser, was launched and the burgeoning Web revolution began to gain steam. In honor of that release, here is my list of the top Web technologies of all time.

XML

While HTML was the core of the original Web, XML is the present and the future. Everything from Web services to Web 2.0 to the semantic Web is based on an XML core.
