Kerio Enhances Its E-Mail Server
Contact management, Active Directory support featured in Version 5.5 of the Kerio MailServer software.Kerio Technologies Inc. on Thursday launched the latest release of its e-mail server software, Kerio MailServer 5.5 with support for contact management and Microsoft Corp. Active Directory integration chief among the new features. Kerio MailServer 5.5 includes a new server-based address book, which supports client contact management and sharing via the Santa Clara, Calif.-based companys WebMail interface. Contacts can also be stored and updated in Outlook Express using the LDAP protocol and the included synchronization agent. The synchronization agent allows email stored locally in Outlook Express folders to be shared with other authorized users. The Kerio upgrade also offers complete Active Directory integration, for both storing and editing client accounts, according to company officials. The internal account database in Kerio MailServer can be run concurrently with Active Directory, to provide additional support for aliases, groups and mailing lists, officials said.
This version offers integrated McAfee Anti-Virus scanning, plus support for third party scanning tools.
