With acquisition, valued at approximately $20 million, Manhattan Associates aims to expand its transportation management offerings.Supply chain execution software developer Manhattan Associates Inc. announced earlier this week that it acquired certain assets of Logistics.com from Internet Capital Group for approximately $20 million. Logistics.com, of Burlington, Mass., makes logistics planning and execution software that enable users to buy, sell, manage and optimize transportation services. The acquisition is expected to bridge the internal gap between transportation planning and execution by expanding Manhattan Associates existing transportation management offerings.
Logistic.coms software covers shipper and carrier management and contractual and spot procurement across various modes of transportation, both domestic and international. The software capabilities provide companies with shipment visibility, including reporting, tracking and alerts.
