MicroStrategy to Bolster AIX Support
Adding support for IBM's AIX platform, MicroStrategy deepens its commitment to Unix.MicroStrategy Inc. is deepening its commitment to Unix by adding more support for IBMs AIX platform, the company announced Friday. The company later this year is expected to deliver Web-based reporting and analytics capability on AIXsignificant because of the improved performance AIX can provide over Windows-based systems. By early next year, MicroStrategy will offer an IBM AIX operating system-certified version of its Intelligence Server product. The Vienna, Va.-based company already offers a Java-based version of its Software Development Kit, certified to run with IBMs WebSphere application server. Through that SDK, MicroStrategy software can also run on Linux on IBMs OS/390 platform.
Sanju Bansal, MicroStrategys vice president and COO, in a statement, described the enhanced AIX support as a "significant technology milestone" for the company and pledged that the AIX version of MicroStrategys software would have "complete feature parity" with Windows versions.
