Microsoft will integrate Preactor's production scheduling software with its Great Plains software for SMBs.
At its annual Manufacturing Summit conference this week in Fargo, N.D., Microsoft Business Solutions on Tuesday announced the integration of production scheduling software from Preactor International with its Microsoft Business Solutions Great Plains software.
Preactor, which develops scheduling software, is based in Warwick, N.Y.
The Preactor 200 Finite Capacity Scheduling [FCS] Finite Production Scheduling software is integrated with Great Plains software to provide a constraint-based, graphical scheduling system to help companies more accurately predict and schedule production orders.
The integration is a cooperative effort with Microsofts Business Solutions division, which provides software for the small and midsized business [SMB] market, its reselling partner Quinn & Associates Inc. and Preactor.
The Great Plains manufacturing solution is a business system for SMB manufacturers that includes applications for financials, distribution and manufacturing planning, execution and management.
The addition of Preactors software is geared at helping companies gain control over their production by giving an accurate view of capacity on the shop floor while at the same time highlighting and scheduling issues.
The integrated software is available now and will also be included with the base product in Microsoft Business Solutions ManufacturingGreat Plains 7.5.
