But the store, geared to provide Web-based software programs for notebooks based on Google's Chrome Operating System later this year, has grown from just 500 applications in December to nearly 3,000 applications through February. Users simply click a button, and the Web applications install in seconds. But that's not the best part. The even better deal for consumers is that the majority of them are absolutely free. Some Chrome applications developers are enjoying their run with the Web Store as well. LucidChart, which helps users draw flowcharts, mockups, mind maps and more, said some 30,000 users have installed LucidChart, making it both one of the top-paid and highest-rated applications in the Web Store.
