Tape company unveils iSCSI support for its tape libraries.

ADIC last week said its Scalar 24 and 100 libraries are now iSCSI-enabled. This support will allow IT managers to increase back-up performance by connecting the tape library directly to the Ethernet network, the company said. Of the tape library vendors in the market, only ADIC and Spectra Logic Corp. currently support iSCSI. The capability is expected to be available sometime this quarter.
