Adaptec Tempts Motherboard Makers with Serial ATA

The move opens path for RAID products.

Adaptec Inc. this week made some inroads with motherboard makers to have its Serial ATA chips built-in designs from Asustek Computer Inc., Giga-Byte Technology Co., SuperMicro Computer, Inc.and Tyan Computer Corp. This opens a path to Adaptecs HostRAID software and RAID add-in cards for workstation and server customers.
