Device helps battery life in 1.0-inch and sub-1.0-inch disk drives.

Agere Systems Inc. recently announced new hard disk drive integrated circuit technology for mobile phones and other consumer devices. The companys TrueStore RC1100ULP channel helps battery life in 1.0-inch and sub-1.0-inch disk drives. SoC samples featuring the RC1100ULP read-channel are expected to ship in 2005.
