Dell VP Talks Green IT

Dr. Albert Esser, vice president of Power & Infrastructure Solutions for Dell, sat down with eWeek to discuss the company's roadmap for increasing the energy efficiency of its products within the datacenter. By using virtual machines and refreshing equipment, datacenters can both improve their performance while lowering their carbon footprint.

Managing an IT workload more effectively depends on knowledge of what exactly is running in the datacenter, and "right-sizing" to fit the particular needs of the enterprise. By these mapping IT needs to a larger corporate strategy, a company can not only become more competitive, but also decrease their energy spend.
