Focus Enhancements FireStore DV disk recorder demonstrated with JVC Professional DV Camcorders Focus Enhancements demonstrated its latest DV disk recorder, the FireStore DR-DV5000, with the JVC GY-DV5000 professional DV camcorder. The DR-DV5000 weighs two pounds (including the removable disk drive) and mounts directly between the video camera body and battery system. Up to six hours of DV video can be recorded to a single removable disk drive.

Medea Introduces StreamRAID 24/7 Server Class Disk Arrays Priced Under $4/GB Medea introduced the StreamRAID family of 24/7 server -class disk arrays, engineered to support rich media and streaming applications for broadcast video servers, web servers, and storage area networks. The StreamRAID family consists of StreamRAID 12 and StreamRAID 48, incorporating 12 and 48 Hitachi Deskstar disk drives respectively in a single rack mountable chassis. Sony Intros New Multi-format DVD With 4x DVD+RW Capablility Sonys next-generation Dual RW drives, the internal DRU-510A and the external DRX-510UL, are the first DVD+R/DVD+RW drives in the industry capable of recording to compatible DVD+RW discs at up to 4X speeds, which enables users to burn a full 4X DVD+RW certified disc in about 15 minutes. Baytech Cinema Announces Industrys First Compact Digital Cinematography Recorder Baytech Cinema unveiled its first product, CineRAM, a digital cinematography recorder that lets cinematographers capture fully uncompressed, high-resolution images directly from the camera, and then transfer them to a VTR, DDR, or non-linear editor for storage and editing.
