Sony, Kyocera Embrace Palm OS 4.1
Sony and Kyocera Wireless on Monday each announced new handhelds based on version 4.1 of the Palm OS.Sony Corp. and Kyocera Wireless Corp. on Monday each announced devices based on version 4.1 of the Palm OS. The Kyocera 7135 is a clamshell smartphone that runs on CDMA2000 1X networks. It features 16MB of on-board memory, a high-resolution screen with 65,000 colors, GPS (global positioning network) technology, and an expansion slot compatible with both MultiMediaCard (MMC) and SD (secure digital) card standards. The phone also includes a built-in MP3 player.
The 7135 also includes a speakerphone, voice-activated dialing, two-way SMS text messaging, Eudora email, and three means of Internet access: HTML, Web Clipping and WAP (wireless application protocol.)
