The SuperLoader 3 provides backup, recovery and archive solutions in one package.
The DLT (Digital Linear Tape) and LTO (Linear Tape Open) autoloader platform provides 250GB to 5TB native capacity in a high-density 2U (3.5-inch) rackmount form factor and can expand from 8+1 to 16+1 cartridge slots as storage needs increase. Bundled with the SuperLoader 3 are Veritas Backup Exec 10 QuickStart Edition software, Web-based remote management, barcode readers and labels, and Quantums StorageCare Services. According to Unitrends president Sterling Wharton, electronic vaulting of data is more reliable, removes the potential of human error and is more secure. Get more information here.
  • Fujitsu Partners with Hybrid SATA Vendor to Offer Multi-Disk Storage Enclosure Fujitsu Computer Products of America Inc. of San Jose, Calif. has agreed to work with Enhance Technology Inc., a Santa Fe Springs, Calif. developer of hybrid SATA (Serial ATA) products, to develop a more advanced multi-disk storage enclosure. To develop a 2.5-inch multi-drive storage enclosure, Enhance Technology will incorporate Fujitsus serial interface hard disk drives into its QuadraPack Q14. The result is a compact removable storage enclosure that can accommodate four SAS (Serial Attached SCSI) or SATA 2.5-inch hard disk drives mounted in one 5.25-inch drive bay. • LSI Logic Unveils 4GB/sec Fibre Channel HBAs LSI Logic Corp. of Milpitas, Calif. has announced shipment of single and dual port 4GB/sec Fibre Channel HBAs (host bus adapters). Both the single-port LSI7104XP-LC and the dual-port LSI7204XP-LC PCI-X HBAs offer 800MB per second full duplex Fibre Channel ports and can perform more than 160,000 I/Os per second. Both adapters also are fully compatible with 1 and 2GB/sec legacy products and can perform at lower connection speeds if those products are detected. The adapters also support the new end-to-end error detection for better data integrity when reading and writing disks. Get more information here.
