archive them, build indexes and have a means to retrieve those conversations.

The DataCove DT

easy to configure. After the initial installation and configuration, it took me
only a few minutes to learn the basics of the unit. The device is managed from
a browser-based console that proved to be very intuitive. Getting up to speed on
the management console took but a few minutes, and administrators familiar with
e-mail servers should have no issues hitting the ground running. DataCove DT
uses e-mail journaling or SMTP for collecting and archiving messages, and can
access messages from POP
and IMAP servers.
While
simplicity is the rule of the day with DataCove DT, there may be a downside for
those running Microsoft’s Exchange Server. Administrators managing an Exchange
instance will need to turn on journaling to comply with regulatory
requirements. Journaling doubles the storage requirements and increases the
workload on an Exchange server. As a result, journaling can severely tax an
Exchange server, especially if mail folders, contacts, calendars and other
documents are also archived. Installing a DataCove DT may force an organization
to upgrade Exchange servers to meet the increased processing demands of
journaling. Administrators will also have to purchase additional storage necessary
for journaling.
