Adaptec Moves IP Storage Network Program Forwards Storage firm Adaptec launched a beta program for IP storage networking systems, which it claims will lead to the first "real world" deployments of IP storage networks. Together with OEMs, Adaptec is working with a broad range of customers including Trimble, Sandia Labs and the University of Michigan. The beta program, based on iSCSI technology, includes storage area network deployments to support Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, customer relationship management and enterprise resource planning applications, databases and collaboration and messaging systems across both Windows and Linux platforms.Personal Storage
AOpen Begins Slim-Type DVD-RW/+RW Drive Shipments To Ricoh < p>According to a DigiTimes report, Taiwan-based AOpen received orders for slim-type DVD-RW/+RW drives from Japans Ricoh and has started shipping the product this month at 10,000 units per month. The contract-manufacturing price is set at around $170 to $180, with Ricoh supplying the key components, the report said.
