The fact that DoJ staff is recommending against Oracles takeover of PeopleSoft means the deal is probably dead. Case in point: Richard Gilbert, former deputy assistant attorney general for antitrust in the Clinton administration, says that of the nearly 100 cases he worked on with Assistant Attorney General R.
