In addition, the company plans to introduce its JSQL-Mapper product into beta release in December, according to Burke Cox, president and CEO of Herndon, Va.-based JNetDirect. Expected to be released by February 2004, JSQL Mapper visually maps XML documents to relational data sources without impacting previous optimization. JSecureConnect can be plugged into existing Java applications to apply authentication and encryption without adding any new code changes. The database driver applies a server component between the database and the client to expose database capabilities through HTTPS filtering proxy, while also applying Secure Sockets Layer protection and passing data through back-end Microsoft Windows NT authentication.
"You dont have to go buy an extra security product to sit on top of a Java application [for improved security]; it may be as simple as just replacing your Java driver," Cox said.
