Desktops and Notebooks: Dell, HP, Toshiba Offer Inexpensive Laptops for Small Businesses
For cost-conscious companies in an increasingly mobile world, it often can be difficult to find a notebook computer that is easily portable, powerful enough to replace a desktop PC, and offers the kind of battery life that allows road warriors and off-site employees the freedom they need. At the same time, small businesses don't often need the fancy entertainment-enhancing features that drive up prices-they need durable, powerful and portable machines with WiFi capability, Web cameras and other features to connect them to the mobile business network. Toshiba recently introduced a line of Satellite and Portage notebooks that offer connectivity to the WiMax 4G mobile Internet, currently available in 54 cities in the United States. With that in mind, here's a selection of 10 laptops from a host of vendors-including Acer, Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Lenovo-that offer a compact form factor, important connectivity features like Bluetooth, HDMI and USB and, most importantly, they won't break the budget.
