Dell this week revamped its tablet lineup with the new Latitude XT2 tablet PC that offers a range of new features, including new multitouch capabilities. In addition, the Dell Latitude XT2 tablet offers more battery life, the choice of two different ultra low-volt Intel Core 2 Duo processors, DDR3 memory, a solid state drive option and a starting price of $2,399. The Latitude XT2 tablet builds on Dell's previous tablet offering - the Latitude XT - which help bring Dell into the tablet market for the first time in 2007.

The Dell Latitude XT2 Tablet

This Dell tablet offers a 12.1-inch screen with multitouch capabilities that allows an employee or IT manager to use either their finger or a pen stylus to write or work when the laptop when it is in tablet mode.

The Dell Latitude XT2 Tablet

Dell introduced a number of business laptops in 2008 that offered longer battery. The same is true for the XT2 tablet, which offers more than 11 hours of battery life with a 6-cell battery.

In addition to its mutlitouch capabilities, the XT2 tablet offers a full keyboard and supports either Microsoft Windows Vista or the XP Tablet operation system.

Instead of more traditional DDR2 memory, Dell is supporting DDR3 memory with the XT2 tablet. Users can pick from 1GB to 5GB of DDR3 RAM.
