Graphics Workstation Uses Nocona Chip, Nvidia Tech
The high-end workstation from Verari Systems, called NemeSys X64, runs both 32- and 64-bit software and uses the latest PCI Express graphics card from Nvidia.Verari Systems is putting Intels Nocona chip and the latest graphics technology from Nvidia into a high-end workstation aimed at compute-intensive tasks. Verari Systems Inc. unveiled the two-way NemeSys X64 graphics workstation Tuesday at the Siggraph computer graphics show in Los Angeles. The new 3.6GHz Xeon chipscodenamed Nocona, with Intel Corp.s EM64T extension technologygives the workstation the ability to run both 32- and 64-bit software and features an 800MHz front-side bus. The system also will use the latest PCI Express graphics card from Nvidia Corp., of Santa Clara, Calif.
