Lexmark International is shipping new color laser printers with faster speeds, enhanced media-handling capabilities and cost-saving features.
The C762, targeted at midsize and large enterprises, prints 25 pages per minute in color and in monochrome.
It will replace Lexmarks older model, the C752. The C762, priced at $1,799, is cheaper than the older model, which is priced at $1,869.
The cost per page is about 1.1 cents for monochrome and 8.3 cents for color, said Lexmark officials.
Powered by a 500MHz processor, the C762 has 128MB of memory and includes USB 2.0 and parallel interfaces. A networked model with 100MB more of memory, the C762n, costs $2,099, and a networked model with a duplexer, the C762dn, costs $2,299, or $2,799 with a 500-sheet paper drawer.
Lexmark this week is also shipping a multifunction color laser printer. The network-ready X762e comes with two 500-sheet paper trays and a duplexer for two-sided printing. It is priced at $7,499.
