Apple nearly surprised consumers April 13 with an update to its MacBook Pro line. (An employee at an electronics retailer noticed new SKUs April 11, and started the rumor mill turning.) The updates include faster processors, such as Intel Core i5 and i7 in the larger MacBook Pro models; an Nvidia graphics processor said to be the fastest now on the market; and extended battery life—up to 10 hours, in the case of the 13-inch MacBook Pro. The 15- and 17-inch models ship with two processors, switching between them depending on the task. According to Apple, Nvidia's GeForce 320M can deliver "incredibly smooth, crisp on-screen graphics for the most demanding 3D games, creative software and technical applications." Pricing for the three sizes starts at $1,199 and scoots up to $2,299. Images courtesy of Apple.
