Synaptics has developed a Touchpad for the Logitech diNovo Edge Wireless Keyboard, offering an easier way to navigate and scroll through PC content.

Synaptics Incorporated, a developer of interface software for mobile computing, communications and entertainment devices, announced Nov. 15, that it has developed a ChiralMotion-enabled TouchPad for Logitech Internationals new diNovo Edge wireless keyboard, which integrates standard user control with scrolling to allow users to switch between the two while navigating through their PC. Fidel Zawde, product marketing manager for Synaptics, told eWEEK that within the diNovo Edge wireless keyboard, the "ChiralMotion-enabled TouchPad allows users to convert a standard cursor control to a scroller interface, giving users the ability navigate a PC at a quicker pace." The diNovo Edge wireless keyboard includes a number of features such as wireless Bluetooth technology, backlighted icons and media controls and now, Synaptics custom-designed ChiralMotion-enabled TouchPad, which will allow users to scroll continuously and not be restricted to any specific location or motion on the TouchPad, once the scrolling mode is started by placing ones finger in the 12 oclock or 3 oclock position of the circle-shaped area of the TouchPad.
The ChiralMotion-enabled TouchPad provides users with an array of features such as speed-adjusted scrolling, which allows users to modify the speed of the scrolling by the rate at which the finger moves across the TouchPad, as well as precision scrolling, which associates the scrolling distance on the screen directly to the finger motion on the TouchPad, giving users the ability to move at both extensive and short pixel-perfect distances. Zawde said that the ChiralMotion-enabled TouchPad helps users because it gives them "a lot more intuitive control to scroll through their PC content."
Synapticss ChiralMotion-enabled Touch Pad is available now for the new Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard for the price of $199.99. Check out eWEEK.coms for the latest news in desktop and notebook computing.
