The company says the new release of its Web-based suite adds more XML formatting and a message broker, plus adapters for BEA's SOA-based platform and Salesforce.com's CRM application environment.

E-commerce software maker Comergent Technologies Inc. is beefing up its Web-based suite of applications to encompass an SOA (service-oriented architecture) approach. The company on Tuesday announced the next iteration of its E-Business System, which adds more XML formatting and a message broker, among other enhancements. With the 6.4 SOA release, users can utilize any type of XML format for exchanging information, including doing punch-outs to other companys catalogs. The upgrade, available next month, also adds a new message broker that provides more flexibility in how an application can perform by adding features such as queuing and guaranteed delivery.
At the same time, Comergent added two new adapters, one for BEA Systems Inc.s SOA-based platform and another for Salesforce.com Inc.s CRM application environment. With the adapters, Comergents order management and catalog applications work with BEAs platform, and users can pass lead opportunities through to Salesforce.coms CRM application, officials said.

With the C3 Campaigns functionality, users are able to track such metrics as "click backs" and orders, and tie that back into Comergents analytics application. With this latest release, Redwood City, Calif.-based Comergent is also providing its suite of applications as an ASP offering.
