Oracle Hires Exec to Build On Demand Business
Juergen Rottler, who led HP's growth in the public, health and education sectors, will focus on making Oracle's On Demand hosted services "as strategic to our customers as Oracle's software business."Following up on increased marketing and development spending for its On Demand hosted services business, Oracle on Wednesday announced it has hired a new executive to lead the On Demand charge. Juergen Rottler, Oracle Corp.s new executive vice president of its On Demand business, comes from Hewlett-Packard Co., where he held the position of senior vice president of the companys public sector, health and education business. Rottler will join company presidents Chuck Phillips and Safra Catz in reporting directly to Larry Ellison, Oracles CEO, in Redwood Shores, Calif.
Rottler said in a statement that he looks forward to growing the On Demand business and to "making it as strategic to our customers as Oracles software business." Rottler also will serve as the executive sponsor for Oracles alliance with Palo Alto, Calif.-based HP.
