PowerAnalyzer Gets Persona-Driven Look
Informatica releases version with features tailored to core groups of users' needs without exposing those users to underlying technology.Informatica Corp. on Monday announced Version 4 of PowerAnalyzer, a release highlighted by usability enhancements designed to make the business intelligence platform more accessible to a wider range of users. PowerAnalyzer 4 makes use of what Informatica calls a "persona-driven" design, so that features and functions are tailored to core groups of users needs without exposing those users to underlying technology, company officials in Redwood City, Calif., said. Other new features include Microsoft Excel templates and pivot tables embedded within the PowerAnalyzer environment and an analytic workflow technology that guides users through analytic processes using a decision tree interface so they can understand the root causes of an analysis thats been made, officials said.
PowerAnalyzer 4 also adds business performance management (BPM) capabilities such as scorecarding, dashboards, Six Sigma metrics, metrics management, ad-hoc query, analysis and report-bursting. In combination with Informaticas PowerCenter RT data integration platform or Java Messaging Services, its lets users view moving indicators in real time on their dashboards for business monitoring so as to identify anomalies as they arise.
