RFID Has Far Greater Reach Potential Than Bar Code

Media reports often treat RFID as a "barcode on steroids" but this attitude oversimplifies the technology, according to Ben Gaucherin, chief technology officer for Sapient, a business consulting and technology services firm. While the technology will help manage the supply chain, it also has the ability to impact more industries than traditional bar code technology ever could, Gaucherin said.
