SSA Global to Standardize Apps on IBM Middleware
The companies, which already have thousands of customers in common, also will work together on providing outside services for consulting and implementation.Midmarket companies using SSA Global Technologies enterprise resource planning and other software may have it a little easier with integration issues. IBM and SSA Global Technologies Inc. on Monday will announce an alliance in which SSA will standardize all of its applications on IBMs middlewareincluding the namesake WebSphere Portal, WebSphere Business Integration, WebSphere Application Serverand Big Blues DB2 Universal Database. The applications from Chicago-based SSA Global that will run on IBMs middleware stack include those for enterprise resource planning [ERP], corporate performance management [CPM], customer relationship management [CRM], product lifecycle management [PLM], supplier relationship management [SCM] and supplier relationship management [SRM].
The two companies also will work together on providing outside services for consulting and implementation, as well as on jointly marketing the combined products, officials said.
