Singlestep Technologies' new Unity Suite 2.5 can combine results from some 30 different tools into a single view.
Management data specialist Singlestep Technologies Corp. this week will introduce a redesigned version of its Unity IT process automation software that can combine results from some 30 different tools into a single view.
The advanced event-handling capabilities of the new Unity Suite 2.5 are aimed at midsize enterprises, MSPs (management service providers) and large enterprise management vendors, according to Singlestep officials in Seattle.

Singlestep made its Unity IT process automation software more modular, creating a Singlestep Information Manager that gathers data, using a variety of methods, from enterprise management systems, e-mail, homegrown tools, scripts and Web pages. It also gathers and normalizes data based on policies from monitoring systems and devices.
Singlestep is negotiating OEM deals with several large enterprise management system providers but has not yet finalized any deals, according to company officials.
By correlating management data from disparate sources and allowing users to automate repetitive network management tasks through customized policies, Unity Suite 2.5 allows IT shops to do more with less, according to Randy Williams, network operations manager at Pelco, a Clovis, Calif., video security systems manufacturer.
"Its not like I have to add an analyst for every monitoring system. I can put my money into development people that are adding value to the business, versus spending money for our own internal use to keep the level of uptime expected by the different business units," said Williams, who is evaluating Unity Suite 2.5.
Singlestep created more flexible pricing and packaging with Unity Suite 2.5. MSPs can start offering hosted monitoring services with just the components they want and then build from there. Singlestep also streamlined installation of the Unity server, which now takes less than an hour to set up, according to company officials.
Unity Suite 2.5 is available now.
