New software from Tidal Software Inc. aims to make it easier for IT administrators to move their job-automation definitions and schedules from a test realm to a production environment. At Gartner Inc.s Gartner Datacenter 2003 conference in Las Vegas on Monday, the software company will roll out Tidal Transporter, an add-on to Tidal Enterprise Scheduler (TES). The software will enable users to publish their job-scheduling definitions from one master database to another with no interruption to their production work, said Stephen Kangas, vice president of marketing and strategic alliances at Tidal. The software will also provide graphic alerts that will let administrators know if there are problems or errors in the migration, as well as automated reporting and logging features, and interactive modeling capabilities to make it easier for enterprises to plan their migration. In addition, Tidal Transporter offers a point-and-click graphical interface user interface and an extended logging feature for both Transporter and Enterprise Scheduler logs.
