Fluke Networks is bringing the OneTouch network diagnostic test tool out of retirement with the addition of automated testing and a broad range of enhanced tests. As tested, my top-of-the line OneTouch AT priced out at just under $10,000. To get started, a basic configuration costs just under $5,000, making the OneTouch AT a premium tool for front-line technicians who need comprehensive test tools that are convenient and make quick work of diagnostic desk-side visits. The OneTouch AT competes with do-it-yourself applications such as Wireshark that get installed on a laptop. Among the key differences that recommend the OneTouch AT is the neat packaging of the wireline (including copper and optional optical) and wireless interfaces along with the tests, testing procedures, expert interpretation and reporting. The OneTouch AT is a rugged, rechargeable, hand-carry device that can be deployed within seconds. The technician can be up and running almost as soon as he or she arrives at the end user's work area. In eWEEK Labs tests, the OneTouch AT was able to provide usable results within minutes.
