ForeScout is upgrading its CounterACT NAC (network access control) platform,
enabling it to scale in line with data center technologies.
ForeScout officials said CounterACT can now cover up to 400,000 endpoints
from a single management console. The company announced the enhancements April
14 and will demo the new capabilities during the RSA
Conference April 20-24 in San Francisco.
“Our latest CounterACT addresses customers’ demands for an enterprise
management solution that scales with today’s IT growth, gives greater
visibility into business risks and network-user behavior, and reduces the cost
and time spent in preventing threats,” ForeScout CTO
Oded Comay said in a statement.
Comay said the focus of many of the enhancements to the company’s NAC
platform were around greater automation key IT functions.
The Executive Dashboard enables IT administrators to give company executives
an easy-to-understand view of complex compliance and trending information, and
to filter the data through myriad predefined policies. In addition, ForeScout’s
Guest Security Suite makes it easier to manage guest access to the network with
applications for handling registration and authentication, post-connect
monitoring and reporting.
The Enterprise Management Control Suite enables the platform to scale to
400,000 endpoints, enabling IT administrators to manage user network activity
on a global basis from a single control console, officials said. ForeScout has
added more granular permission controls, which lets IT managers further limit
who can view and control the local network.
The platform also includes the Preventative Security Suite for threat
prevention, and integration of McAfee ePO to detect and control network hosts.
Port-level access control also enables IT administrators to quarantine a threat
before a network connection is made, officials said.
