Henry Blodget and Mary Meeker
Saw their stock picks getting weaker,
Kept their mouths shut til the bust
Thus losing not just cash but trust —
Trust that Wall Streets bluest chips
Could be steadfast and call the dips,
Not only tout the short-term wins,
So money might keep flowing in.
Looking back and taking stock,
Their early wisdom was a crock.
The picks that once the world amazed
Became as petrol on a blaze.
Fingers point all round the mess:
VCs, investors and the press.
But analysts with wealth and fame
Deserve just part of all the blame,
For this may be the biggest crime:
We wont believe them til next time.
