The software maker saw a 24 percent revenue increase and a profit for the third quarter.

Documentum Inc. continued to buck software industry trends, posting a 24 percent revenue increase and a profit for the third quarter, ended Sept. 30. The Pleasanton, Calif.-based enterprise content management software developer saw revenues rise from $45.3 million to $56.3 million in the quarter, led by an increase in license revenues from $19.8 million to $28.9 million. Documentum turned a $2.9 million profit for the quarter after posting an $8.3 million loss in last years third quarter. Also in the content management/collaboration/knowledge management space:
Hummingbird Ltd. saw revenues fall slightly in the quarter, from $48.9 million to $46.2 million. The Toronto-based company broke even after a $3.1 million loss in last years third quarter.
Open Text Corp. saw revenues up slightly, from $35.8 million to $37.7 million. The Waterloo, Ontario-based company turned a $5.4 million profit, up from $1.6 million in last years fiscal first quarter. Related Stories:
