Nasdaq used to build its systems in-house in order to disseminate its proprietary data feeds. Now they're turning to HyperFeed's ticker plant software, which will be the technology that underlies Nasdaq's Data Factory Project.
Nasdaqs Data Factory Project is designed to give traders, issuers and consumers more data than they receive today. It will be powered by HyperFeeds ticker-plant technology in order to receive, process and distribute data from any source, as well as mixing in proprietary data.
The three-year, multi-million dollar deal gives Nasdaq the right to use HTPX, HyperFeeds ticker-plant technology. The Data Factory Project is inspired by competition from alternative trading systems and electronic communications networks that are boosting transparency and openness.
