Google has made significant strides to be a Web-based service provider. Even the company's Nexus One smartphone, while branded with its logo, was developed by HTC. But the Nexus One was significantly influenced by Google and it's arguably the best Android-based device on the market. It's that success that has made some wonder if Google could become a viable hardware provider to compete on the same level as Apple. It's not as crazy as you might think. Google is quickly moving into several industries, ranging from Web advertising to offering a 1G-bps network. The question might not be if the company will start breaking into hardware, but when it will start breaking into hardware. Realizing that, we've decided to take a look at 10 hardware categories that we'd like to see Google get into. Let's take a look:
