Aside from being energy-inefficient, old servers are also often space hogs. Outdated equipment that “still works” is burning up more energy and creating extra load on your data center cooling system than currently available equipment. And, if rack space is in short supply, new systems typically cram more compute capability into a much smaller space than older systems.
