Stories are rampant that Dell, HP, Acer, Asus and other computer makers are building tablets based on Google's Android operating system. Even Google and Verizon are building an Android tablet together. However, lesser-known creators of Android-based tablets are trying to capture some of the fire Apple has ignited with its successful iPad tablet computer. Moreover, electronic reading devices based on Android are coming to the fore to keep up with Amazon's Kindle and Barnes & Noble's Nook.
