Insightix Speeds Network Discovery (Without Agents)

Insightix Ltd.s Insightix Dynamic Infrastructure Discovery Collector 1.3, a real-time IT infrastructure discovery and monitoring tool, easily documented eWEEK Labs test network without installing agents on any systems. The best part is that devices and network topology changes showed up as soon as any device started to communicate on the network.

However, we did have to make a significant change to our network, creating a monitoring port on our core network switch to mirror all LAN segments to a port that was attached to Insightix DID Collector.

Insightix DID Collector started shipping last month and costs $4,000 to monitor 100 devices. Although this is a fairly steep license fee for the relatively small amount of information gathered by Insightix DID Collector, the products real value is in the convenience and accuracy of its real-time network discovery and monitoring.
