The server has room for eight 2.5-inch SAS, SATA or solid-state drives. Here you see my test unit with four 146GB 10,000rpm SAS drives.

Easy Field Service

The top cover is articulated to provide easy access to the hot-swappable fans without exposing the memory and processors to possible damage.

The Best-Laid Plans

With the top off, you see the fan bank, the dual quad-core Intel Xeon 5540 processors, the memory array and the power supplies to the right. At the left rear is space for additional PCIe cards.
