The Opalis Integration Server product offers new templates, integration packs and dashboard, which are designed to ease IT infrastructure management.
Opalis Software is rolling out a host of new features in the latest release of Opalis Integration Server, a product designed to help enterprises automate the processes within their data centers.
The company on Dec. 4 launched version 5.3 of its software, which includes more than 90 workflow process templates, five new integration offerings and an enhanced dashboard to give users greater visibility into their IT process management, from the administration of the processes to how data is reported back.
"We wanted to be able to show, to visualize, the impact this automation [offer via Opalis Integration Server 5.3] was having," said Mike Tindal, vice president of marketing at Opalis, of Toronto, Canada.
The new dashboard is among several new highlights of the software. Also included are new ITIL (IT Infrastructure Library)-templates to both automate operational processes and give visibility into those processes, such as configuration, incident and change.
Tindal and Todd DeLaughter, who took over as Opalis president and CEO in October after more than 20 years with Compaq and Hewlett-Packard, said Opalis goal with the templates was being able to offer users an easier and more automated way to initiate those processes.
"Weve bundled up the workloads, processes and policies, and were letting [enterprises] do it out of the box," Tindal said.
The templates also are aligned with ITIL objectives.
ITIL was developed in England as a way of establishing best practices for IT service management.

The new features within version 5.3 are aimed at helping users align their IT services with their business goals through repeatable and standard best practices, Tindal said.
