By Don E. Sears on 2010-04-15

These unranked certifications have been assembled by technology research analyst firm Foote Partners as part of its upcoming quarterly index on hot skills and certifications in demand over the next three to six month. Bill Reynolds, who works at Foote Partners, explained how the numbers came together: "We construct this list from first looking at the last three, six, nine months of market value vectors (did they rise, fall or stay the same in value?). Then we look at our IT Spending surveys and compare 2010 budgeted to 2009 actuals for about 75 line items covering most elements of HW, SW, services, process spending. Then we look at technology releases, vendor behaviors, etc. ... Anything that can influence demand for tech purchases. Then we formulate predictions. Then we interview hundreds of IT decision makers to try to validate our predictions, tweak them." Here are hot IT certifications for 2010 grouped by area.
