We're hearing another round of government officials acknowledging that all the data was there to trip up the Christmas Day underwear bomber before he headed for the United States, but there was no one system or agency that could put all the pieces together. In the private business-to-business world, putting all the data pieces together and turning it into useful information is what business intelligence is all about. Here's my list of five public and private executives who understand data, BI and how to get things done. I certainly do enjoy volunteering other people for tough jobs.
