Belluzzo to Take Reins as Quantum CEO
Industry veteran Richard Belluzzo will join the network storage provider as CEO effective Sept. 3, 2002.Quantum Corp. announced Wednesday morning that industry veteran Richard Belluzzo is joining the network storage provider as CEO effective Sept. 3, 2002. Belluzzo, who had spent 20 years in the executive ranks at Hewlett-Packard Co., also held the position of CEO at Silicon Graphics Inc. His most recent job prior to heading to Quantum, was that of president and COO of Microsoft Corp. He will succeed Quantums current CEO, Michael Brown, who will continue on at the Milpitas, Calif., company as chairman.
"Im very excited about joining Quantum and working to take advantage of the many long-term opportunities in data protection and network storage," said Belluzzo in a statement. "With leading positions in tape drives, tape automation and network attached storage, and the progress it has made in building a storage solutions presence, Quantum has a very strong foundation from which to grow."
