Tackling some of the complexities of converged networking, Siemens Enterprise Networks LLC, a subsidiary of Siemens AG, this month will release management software designed to simplify fault management and call accounting.

The HiPath MetaManagement Software suite allows an administrator to manage an entire distributed network from a single, Web-based interface. Its suited for a small office of 200 ports to a site with as many as 200,000 ports.

The Fault Management component monitors network elements, identifies faults and indicates corrective measures. It provides remote notification via e-mail, pager or wireless phone, and resolution can be achieved over the Web remotely. The Accounting Management component lets multiple network managers collect data simultaneously on voice, data and Web traffic.

HiPath ranges in price from $7 to $15 per port, per software module.
