Lunsford replaces John Hentrich, who had held both positions at WebSideStory since 1999. Hentrich guided the company as it transitioned to focus exclusively on the Web traffic measurement and analysis space after it had derived much of its early revenue from selling Web banner ads, particularly at adult Web sites. Hentrich will remain with the company as senior vice president.
WebSideStory now has more than 400 enterprise customers and 3,000 small business customers. Its technology is used at about 1,500 name-brand sites, including CBS SportsLine, Best Buy, Casual Corner, Brooks Brothers, Chicos, Taylor Made-adidas Golf, Northwest Airlines and Pitney-Bowes, according to company officials.
