A new report is out by Forrester Research claiming that Microsoft's Windows 7 Means the End of XP for Business. Within 18 months of the release, or with the release of the first Windows 7 service pack, "the OEM licenses bundled with every PC will no longer carry downgrade rights to Windows XP. You can expect to see the messages at train stations, airports, and in print and online publications in the U.S., as well as in Australia, Canada, France, Japan, Singapore and the U.K. A survey sponsored by 1E and the Alliance to Save Energy found that one in six servers - about 4.7 million worldwide - are doing nothing useful, costing businesses as much as $25 billion a year. The survey of global IT professionals also found that many are lacking the necessary tools and know-how to find and get rid of unused servers.
