Apple Computer recently demonstrated its Workgroup Cluster for Bioinformatics at the ClusterWorld Conference and Expo.

Apple Computer Inc. last week demonstrated its Workgroup Cluster for Bioinformatics at the ClusterWorld conference and expo in San Jose, Calif. The hardware and software package, and accompanying Web portal ships with 200 open-source scientific applications. The company said the clusers supports many commercial and open-source applications. Accoding to Apple, its Workgroup Cluster for Bioinformatics provides "everything a non-technical bench scientist needs to set up, operate, and maintain a small, computational cluster with little or no support required from IT departments."
