Hortonworks announced the launch of Hortonworks University, a new training and certification program for Apache Hadoop developers and administrators.
As developers,
analysts and enterprise adopters alike have called for more resources to help
make Hadoop more enterprise-friendly, Hortonworks announces a new Hadoop
training program for developers and administrators.
Hortonworks,
a company promoting the development and support of Apache Hadoop, has announced
a new initiative providing Hadoop training and certification known as
Hortonworks University.
The new Hortonworks
University training program features public, private and online
training and certification programs for developers and administrators. The
company also announced a Certified Training Partner Program designed to address
the growing demand for Apache Hadoop education across the globe.
Hortonworks University
courses feature a blend of expert content and hands-on labs that prepare
students for the real-world challenges of building, deploying and managing
Apache Hadoop applications, the company said. Students also receive insight
into the Apache Hadoop project road maps via lunch and learn sessions with
Apache Hadoop experts such as Arun C. Murthy, Hortonworks founder and
architect.
As a recent
graduate of the Developing Solutions using Apache Hadoop course from
Hortonworks, I feel more prepared to begin creating Hadoop applications, said
Farhan Hussain, lead architect at Open Source Architect, a provider
of software development, IT management, infrastructure expertise and
training services. Thanks in large part to the lab offerings, I was able
to implement what I was learning in real time, arming me with hands-on
knowledge that can be applied at customer sites. I would strongly recommend the
Hortonworks training programs to anyone looking to optimize Apache Hadoop
deployments for technical and business success.
Hortonworks
is laser-focused on enabling the Apache Hadoop ecosystem to flourish, and
Hortonworks University is an important component of that strategy, Rob
Bearden, CEO of Hortonworks, said in a statement. What sets our training
programs apart is our exceptional domain expertise and ability to transfer that
knowledge into hands-on labs that prepare students to become highly productive
as soon as they complete a Hortonworks course. We are also sharing Hortonworks
University course content and labs with Certified Training Partners in order to
meet the growing demand for expert Apache Hadoop training on a global basis.
